Working Environment Quality Measurements [1.5.1]

Working Environment Quality Measurements

According to recent studies the contemporary men and women spend 80-90% of their inside interior areas, 8-18% in moving to and from these areas and only 2% in exterior areas.

Workplace air pollution may therefore seriously affect employee health; in our days the term “sick building syndrome” is used to describe an adverse situation during which a significant number of tenants present ill health problems. In most of these cases, sick buildings are high-rise buildings that are not occupied for the intended use.

Hence, physical, chemical and biological agents concentration measurements are required in order to determine the exposure risk in these workplace environments; the results must be compared with the occupational exposure limits, as set by the Cyprus Legislation [Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία - Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας - Νομοθεσία (mlsi.gov.cy)] or the international bibliography.

CRM Cyprus Ltd in cooperation with the Safety Officer or the Safety Responsible [1.1.1] and the Health Services of the Employing Company, conducts workplace air quality measurements according to the Cyprus Legislation [Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία - Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας - Νομοθεσία (mlsi.gov.cy)] requirements and relevant technical specifications including:

  • Thermal Comfort Measurements
  • Lighting Measurements
  • Radiation Measurements
  • Noise Measurements
  • Vibration Measurements
  • Flammable Agents and Explosive Atmosphere Measurements
  • Ergonomic Measurements
  • Chemical Agents Concentration Measurements (asbestos, inorganic compounds, VOC’s, carbon dioxide, heavy metals etc.)
  • Airborne Particles Measurements (total and respirable dust)
  • Biological Agents Measurements

The results are analyzed and a full measurement report is submitted with proposed measures in case the threshold limit values are exceeded.

Environmental Measurements [1.5.2]

Environmental Measurements

According to the Cyprus Legislation [Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία - Τμήμα Επιθεώρησης Εργασίας - Νομοθεσία (mlsi.gov.cy)], adapted to the site-specific environmental terms and conditions of each facility, all polluting parameters resulting from the industrial operations must be determined, monitored and controlled.

CRM Cyprus Ltd can monitor align the appropriate mel applicable environmental parameters and cover the needs for noise, radiation and all pollutant releases by conducting the appropriate environmental measurements.

Additionally, CRM Cyprus Ltd may conduct air pollution measurements and liquid wate analyses.
